The main character Patrick an Irish boy who suffer through that period as an orphan. The struggle to survive from starvation because of potatoes disease known as “potato blight” further worsen by colonialisation of the English landlord from England.
Patrick and his people were driven out of their land led by the henchmen of Lord Egham known as Mr. Graystone.

I love the ending of this movie..it is so dramatic and i feel enjoyed when i watching it with my friends and my lecturer,hehehe..the main character,Emily,she is so strong woman..she was able to go through the situation with her adopted daughter,Lily,who is a psychotic person..by the endingof movie,i feel so curious about what will Emily do after the Lily's death.
